Is the the AirTap that sold for $250 shipped??

+$20. for shipping. Email says it is on it way w/tracking #. Photo on Ebay listing showed a pile of them stacked in warehouse. Sales history showed some where sold "BUY IT NOW" at $350. though.

Going to try contacting manufacturer about WHY they recommend no other elec connection to tank if A7 is attached. Want standard elements to be available when HP performance drops from too cooled basement even if I have to seasonally rewire for it. Might be a work around possible.

That picture seems to show they've got about 80 units in stock..

They won't know much about the units, they are just resellers.
That warning came from Airtap's marketing or legal dept, years ago.
It's likely because they didn't know if the refrigerant coil inside the tank,
could take 212F, if the over-heat protection on the heating elements failed.
(Leaving 230vac on continuously).

I used DC at about 100V@8A and wrecked my new GE tank's controls. They are toast.
If I hooked up 230VAC now, it would never shut off..

I'm going to contact AirGenerate about it. Sometimes you can get in contact with an engineer or tech person that will give you info before the liability lawyers get to it.

I have a number of single tank solar systems with solar in the bottom, one element in the top and a timer limiting it to off peak periods. I seems to work well for those clients.

Wow, I just checked Ebay and it looks like they've sold two 'Power Mizer H20 Water Heater Pump' units..

Maybe I can get one for $250.00

I know summer solar water heating is at its peak but going to be grid-tied so I favor collector space for PV, which is less potential trouble in long winter area IMO.
See if there is an additional monthly charge for the extra peak meter. That may offset some of your savings from being on the program. In Oklahoma we have smartmeters so no additional meter costs or rewiring. Smartmeters are the way of the future, your utility may convert in the future.
