![]() Well thank you sir!! I've been admiring that cool thermostat!
My old one doesn't have a touch screen, just plain old chicklet buttons! I wonder what the exact number model is? Like does it have the outdoor temp feature etc? I love new gadgets! Cheers, Rich |

![]() I'll check to see what model number it is. It at least has a outdoor temperature sensor hookup. However, I'm unsure if it has the advanced heat pump feature.

![]() Is this the install guide that came with your unit?
http://www.airconditioner-parts.com/...stallation.pdf My single transformer oil burner only uses 2 wires to the thermostat (T T in fig 6 ?) and I'm wondering if a jumper between RC & R provides power to the thermostat? Right now, my old Honeywell MagicStat runs off two AA cells. But it doesn't have to power a back-light or a touch screen. I think the Honeywell just puts a short across the T T lines when calling for heat. That seems like it would short out any power being provided to the fancy new thermostat.?. I don't know much about thermostats.. ![]() ~~~ I see where the out-door sensor (S1 & S2) hooks up, and I'm wondering if that's just a simple thermistor? Thanks, Rich |

![]() I'd have to check when I get home (via opening your package).
The unit does run off two AA or AAAs. The backlighting turns off after a few seconds of not pushing on the screen, so it doesn't suck down the battery much. In the house I did the install on, their boiler only had two wires too. I forget which ones I hooked it up to but I can check and get back to you on that. I'm really not sure on the outdoor sensor.

![]() The manual I'm looking at shows 3 AAA cells. So, they should last a while..
But, maybe the 24VAC line provides power when the stat isn't calling for heat.?. No need to open up the bubble-pack, I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.. ![]() Hey, I guess that means it's impolite to inspect the teeth of a horse you just got as a gift.. ![]() |

![]() Nah, its not impolite. You want to make an informed decision between prizes. I'm happy to answer any questions I can.
