Piwoslaw, you are posessed by a demon!
Quote:
I think that there is some kind of refrigeration demon residing inside of you and you are obligated to set that demon free! So my advice is to get your hands on some kind of refrigeration compressor, any kind will do, really... some compressors may be more suitable than others, but for the purposes of total exorcism of the refrigeration demon, just get a compressor. I suggest getting one that you like... the demon will lead you to the right compressor. In fact, maybe you should get two, because you can use one to draw some kind of vacuum on the system. Then get some HXs, I'm sure that you have read about all kinds on this blog. Here again, listen to the demon, and you will be led to select the correct ones. Again, they should be HXs that you like... for this is how the demon works. You will need some kind of metering device. If you're haunting the wrecking yard, try to get a metering device from the same car as the compressor. Then a very basic kit of tools will be useful. So now you must build your refrigeration demon exorcism machine and run it. It may require a bit of tweaking before it starts makes frost. When it starts making frost, the moment of exorcism has arrived! If you were successful, the demon will have released his grip on you and you will now be free to watch TV forever. If you made frost and the demon did not leave you to live in peace, you have a very big demon and he must be fed. Welcome to hell. -AC

AC, of course I have plans, ideas, lots of theoretical knowledge from a great forum (EcoRenovator, or something like that), etc. But I also have a full-time job, a 1,5h commute each way, plus a loving Wife and a small kid who suck up every minute of my free time (actually, a bit more, so I'm not getting enough sleep). So the plans are on hold, the ideas are maturing, the theoretical knowledge is getting refined and expanded, and the kid is getting older and will soon need less attention. The job is taking up too much time, but at least I have money to buy materials when the time comes.
The main priority in the house is getting the bathrooms remodeled and plumbing replaced, then getting a ventilation system with heat recovery installed. It will have room for a heat pump to experiment with, but first things first. Oh, and yes, I know about propane  Sorry for the OT.

I have just realized I am in Hacker's Hell. I must have a big demon living with me because it refuses to be satisfied.
I often find myself wandering around the salvage yard, looking for components of my next demon machine. Yard sales and flea markets aren't the same, either. Everywhere I go, I seem to stumble into decrepit refrigeration units that people just want to throw my way. Others view my condition with stark contrast. On the one hand, some see the value in the creatures I have produced, and want one to call their own. OTOH, the vast majority dismiss my works as ugly junk, useless and worthless to them. They dismiss me as some evil genius. I am beginning to think there is no cure for what I have.... Last edited by jeff5may; 09-08-13 at 09:16 PM.. |

My truck has room for 500-750w of solar panels on the roof and I was wondering if I could get a small car AC and an ECM motor and drive the AC when there is sun available. Haven't looked into it further than that.

Hook it to a lawnmower engine that has been converted to natural gas. That's what York did back in the 90's Triathlon (heat pump) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
