Default $1,343.99 Yikes!!

And, the one with the 15' line set is even cheaper! $1,343.99
Gree CROWN 12,000 BTU Ductless Mini Split Air Conditioner w/ Inverter, Heat Pump, Remote & 15' Lineset (208/230V) - Single Zone Systems - Ductless Mini Split Systems - Heating & Cooling

I just emailed them my question about the hole in the bottom type install.. Sent them a link to a picture..

I have to do something soon.. But, I did put up the solar-screens on the west side windows in the den..
So, it's not going to be cooking in there.. At least until Wednesday, when it's going to get up to 84F..

Edit:
Talked to tech support and they have never heard of installing a lineset the way I've got mine..
No cut-out on the bottom of the Crown.. I guess..

It comes precharged for a 25’ line set I am not sure how of a difference 15’ line set would make.

The install manual says to add 0.2 oz per foot of additional lineset over 25'

So, 25' x 0.2 oz means 5 oz is what 25' of line needs..
Then 15' of copper needs(15x0.2) 3 oz..
If an 2 oz extra was a problem, I couldn't solve it. I don't have a scale that accurate..

I'll bet if you ask tech support, they would tell you that any lineset
from 15 to 30 feet long will be fine with the factory R401a charge..

I should have looked at that closer when I did the other bedrooms. 15’ line set would have been more than enough for those installs.

Default More bad news..

I was thinking about shifting the IDU to the left a few inches, but...
It looks like they don't allow the right side knock-out to be used..

Maybe because the copper is pre-bent left and they don't want a 180 right turn on it..?.
They got the pictures wrong, but the text says no right side entry..

The only think I can think of now, is route out a big hole in the wall, use rear exit and bent
it back outside the wall, then put into the existing floor hole..

May be the left and the right is as you are looking away from the wall like a car.
That is want the picture shows.

If you used the right side as they don’t allow in the picture. The flare fittings would be behind the unit. They probably don’t want that.

It's better to have a lineset too long, than too short.. My 15' was almost too short.
A 16 or 17 foot would have been better.. (I do own a flare tool, so a 25 would work).

I saw an install video with one guy holding the IDU up at an angle,
while another guy was cranking on the lineset fittings with wrenches..
Looked awfully awkward.. How do you do a soap spray check?

That manual text may be wrong.. (I used to review tech manuals. Translated from Japanese).
It would not surprise me, if the pictures were correct and the text wasn't translated correctly..

Yes I did a soap spray check but it was easy because mine went straight outside. All flare fittings were out side.

Did you get one while they were on sale?

Nope, not yet. We've had too many other things going on here lately.
I don't want to order anything until I know it can be installed when it's delivered.
Hopefully, I can get this done before the fall. I hate the cold.

I am sure they will have another sale at some point. It is just a matter of time.

This is an interesting ad
