Not much production going on the last few days. Very cold and snowy.
My commute at -3F this morning meant my car ran most of the way in on ERDTT leaving me with 8 miles of charge; normally I have no battery left on my 41.5 mile trip in. I might try blocking the lower grill to see if I can keep the ERDTT time down. Supposed to clear up for a day and then another 3-4 days of snow. Not good for solar production, but we need the moisture so its a good deal. |

Looking at my graphics, my panels are all up right around 1MWh per panel for lifetime accumulated power generation. |

1Mwh per panel!!! Holy smokes, that's awesome.
Ever since the net meter install on 1/5/17 we have had inversion fog/smog. It's been really cloudy and gloomy in the valleys, but here is a few miles up the canyon today: Last edited by Roostre; 02-24-17 at 04:18 PM.. Reason: fix picture |

I'm averaging just shy of 300kWh per panel, per year. In terms of $/kWh, I need to reach 1.35MWh collected per panel to have each panel pay for it's associated inverter. When they reach 3.1MWh per panel, each panel will have paid off their inverter and the panel. I like to consider the racking paid for with the original federal tax credit.
I honestly didn't realize how many clouds go by each day, until I had a way to gauge it. |

Looking up!
It's been a slow start, but we finally have a sunny day!!
Going to break the all time record methinks.

Easy to see where the snow is still deep:
Mostly in the middle where its hard to get to. Also, much of what was pushed off the top row ended up piling on these middle panels.

A good March! *Almost* made 1MWh. May have underestimated how much shading the neighbors pine trees to the west of house give us in the spring. We moved here last July, so I've never been around in March. As the sun gets further north the impact of these trees should go down. They have brought up removing them, but I don't think its that big of a deal. Considering adding 8-10 panels to our shop. I have room on my existing inverter to add 2600 watts. Would require a conduit from the shop to the house and then to the inverter. Shop roof has no shading. I've noticed it is in full sunlight earlier and later than the roof of the house. Payback period looks to be about 23 months.

Nice production.
How much of your power usage did that cover?

Our bill has been averaging a little over 1000kWh. February was 1037kWh, but it has been warmer in March AND we no longer have a renter in the basement. A good guess is 95%-100%. We'll see when the bill arrives!
