Mikesolar, looks like I messed up calc.

I will make the solar tank 3/4" pex HX as 4 loops @ 125' to reduce head loss & slow flow to gain more heat.

BTW, the Grundfos Alpha pump for the radiant floors will also move this water.

Water from solar tank pex HX will probably be around 10-15* < than top of solar tank.

Performance of Plastic Pipe-Coil Heat Exchanger -- Longer Draw

At 2gpm through 300' of 1" pex Gary got a steady 20*F < tank temp on extended draw test.

I wonder what type of oil comes in Copeland scroll?
Will I need to add PAG oil?
Where can I buy CPI-1507-32 at somewhat less than 55 gal?

I bought a small SLHX: Swep B5Hx10/1P-SC-S Refrigerant Heat Exchanger, 3/4" npt, 435 psi
$49.25

The POE oil that's already inside would work fine.

We don't know where you got that model number of oil, but CPI doesn't make 1507 oil in ISO 32 weight. They only make 68 and 100.

If you know you need PAG oil, you can get 46, 100, and 150 weight at any auto parts store. Half pint bottle is like $9.95. I would try to make sure first, as most R410a compressors use POE oil. Bring a sample to a fridgie tech, he can taste it and tell what kind of oil it is. Or not. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Cripple Creek? I've been there a few times! My parents took me on a weekend road trip and we stayed at an ancient hotel with banging steam lines. I didn't get much sleep that weekend at all.

I grew up in Northglenn, a suburb of Denver. The businessmen tore down the motorcycle hill by where I lived, flattened the top, and put a restaurant on top. It was called "Brittany Hill". Dirty b@#$%^s. I never ate there and never will.

Anyways, you should be able to find a decent amount of supplies in Colorado Springs. All the big shops have sister shops to serve the Air Force. If the sister shop don't have what you need, they can get it tomorrow on the truck.

I really miss the Denver-Boulder area sometimes. Whole different world from where I live now.

PAG breaks down at relatively low voltages and is only used in low voltage compressors.
Oil type for Embraco compressor?

Copeland R410a scroll calls for POE32:

Polyolester Oil (Copeland Ultra 32-3MAF,Lubrizol Emkarate RL32-3MAF, Parker EMKARATE RL32-3MAF/ (Virginia) LE323MAF, Nu Calgon 4314-66 (EMKARATE RL32-3MAF) Hatcol 22 CC, Copeland Ultra 22 CC & Mobil Arctic 22 CC (last three for ‘top off’ only)

So far I found a gallon of Mobil Arctic 22CC for $49
& found Emkarate RL32-3MAF Refrigeration Oil, 1 Qt. $25.25 + S&H

Should I get some?

The compressor will have all the oil needed already in it.
