Danner MD 12 magnetic drive pump with a 5 year warranty. 5/22/2015 and it was sounding bad today and not pumping.

I have a spare impeller but when the impeller went bad it took out the cover.
I also have a spare pump on hand and I put the one in.
I called Danner pump MFG and they will send me a new cover for free it has a 5-year warranty.
It was no issue with them email receipt and they send me a new cover.

It would have cost me about $13-$15 shipped for the part.
But it is still nice they covered it and the process was not hard at all.

It is nice to see company stand behind their products.
They did not try to get out of covering it at all.

They said they will ship it tomorrow.

I have been using some of the ceramic bearing 2 or 3 phase brushless pumps with good luck. They are suppose to have a pretty long service life and are efficient.

I buy the 24v rated and run them at 12v

High flow and high pumping height;
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Lower flow and lower pumping height;
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You want to mount them with the shaft at a horizontal orientation for longest life. I blew up an external controller due to an incident of water running backwards in the pump at a high elevation and was able to replace it with an cheap ebay controller very easily.

I know this is an old thread and I am sure this system was built years ago and is working fine now. But I just wanted to throw out there, to anybody reading this recently. Solar powered water pumps have gotten very inexpensive and are now readily available.

We have 12.5 KW solar power.
Everything we have runs off solar power.

We still have never used any city water for this greenhouse.
It exclusively runs off rain water captured off our roof and down spouts.

I bet it's great to have those resources (power, food & etc) during these crazy times.
My healthy Keto diet is a disaster now. My wife and I are not eating like we used too!

We just went for a walk and I started asking my wife to go get the car, after ONE mile. She said, "Right, I'll start running now".
As it has become nowadays, this is No Country for Old Men.

That sounds awesome. I am in the design phase of a new home, which I hope to build next summer. But aquaponics is one of the big must have items for us. When I was younger I used to design and build ponds, in landscapes, that used a lot of the same principles. The big difference being, we used (ornamental) plants to keep the pond water clean, but never harvested them for food. I first learned about aquaponics from a coworker who built a great system a few years ago. I am really looking forward to building my own system. The big downside is, I am sure my wife will name all the fish and any attempt to harvest them for dinner will be met with revolt.
