What if we create a better world for nothing?
I found this comic today and thought it was worth sharing.
http://politicalirony.com/2009/12/10/what-if-2/ Seriously, why is it such a big fight to create a better world?

What if it is a hoax? According to a lot of people, that's just what it is.
The American Spectator : The Great Hoax I'm so old, I remember the first scare.. Then along came the El Niņo spike in 1998 and the warming scare started. Even if man's activity never has any noticeable effect on the weather, we still need to worry about running out of fuel for our machines. I think a lot of people don't want to attempt to re-build their environment, they just move to an area where conditions are more to their liking. I hear the population of Boston is dropping off every year. I've got a feeling that a lot of folks are moving to warmer climates and maybe states were the cost of living & taxes aren't so high. |

I'm beginning to believe that the most powerful force in nature is the status quo. People will stick with some seriously bad ideas just to avoid trying something new.

I think it's worth doing either way. Whether there is an effect or not.
And just to disregard the planet for a second, just think of your own health. Do you enjoy walking down a street during a time when there's a lot of cars out. You're just sucking in the pollutants into your body. Or look at the smog that's above LA, or Toronto or any of those major cities. You're breathing that crap in. And that's just one example. |

Just yesterday I met one of my highschool teachers in the train. It didn't take long for the discussion to turn towards global warming. "Do you really believe all that?", she asked. She explained that recently she has trouble believing anything that is in the news. Since I didn't want to get into a long, heated discussion, I replied diplomatically "I'm not 100% sure whether people changed the climate and in what degree, but I do believe that everyone should try their best not to pollute." I was relieved when she agreed
