Photobucket pics: pay or update please!

Hi all!

If you don't know already, Photobucket has discontinued their free third party image hosting. To enable this feature, they are now charging $399 per year to share out your linked pictures. Like it or not, that's the way it looks like it will stay.

So if, like me, you shared lots of pics on this (and other) forum, all those links are now useless unless you pay ransom to Photobucket. I'll be downloading lots of my pics and either uploading them here or finding another site to host them that is free. It might take a while.

I encourage other users to check through some of your threads. Chances are they are now truncated of pics.

And guess what? Looks like Photobucket retired some of my older pics, so I might not be able to recover them to make posts whole. I will be checking into this unfortunate situation. Hopefully I will be able to find them in the near future. I have no idea what is going on with the new business model, but I am guessing that the Outlook is not good. I will not be happy if they cease to exist in the near future.

Glad I never used photobucket !

wonder if you can use the cloud to do it ? I don't use the cloud but could with a iPhone.
