Friedrich 1 ton MS heat pump
This is the 2nd MS we installed . This one is located in our bed room .
A day or two ago , noticed it had stopped . Flashing a code H6 . Cycled it and it started working again . Last night I had to cycle it 4 - 5 times . This morning I opened the clam shell cover and handed the 2 filters to my wife . She cleaned them while I continued to mess with the MS . When I looked up the code in the MS pdf , it spoke of either the louver swing or the indoor fan . Could not get to the fan w/o removing more of the plastic cover . I " exercised " the louvers " a fair amount . Re-installed the filters my wife had cleaned and closed the MS back up . Seems to be working normally . Praise The Lord ! :-) God bless Wyr |

For some strange reason, gree mini-split units pop up the only real descriptive info when searching for code h6. Hmmmm. The info says indoor unit airflow problem. Check for blocked filter, closed vent, or stuck blower motor. Makes one wonder who really built the unit...

On one occasion , it looked like the louver had stalled . That is what I messed with . Did not get it taken apart enough to get to the fan or motor .
But the documentation goes in the direction of the indoor fan motor . All I can say is I am thankful it has been working since I tinkered with it . My guess is the Chinese units ( a majority of the market ) come out of a handful of factories ? https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...THI4ZsEyXaePlQ See page 38 , 42 & 57 . God bless Wyr |

Best I can tell , the H series error codes pertain to heat . I first thought it was error code HS , but that was not listed in the documentation . Same for H8 . Therefore I figured it must have been H6 .
At present , it is still heating fine . Louver movement does not seem to respond to the remote , although it opens and closes when the unit is turned off & on . God bless Wyr |

I have noticed the same thing with my generic controller (qunda). In some modes, the front panel keypad does very little, and everything has to be adjusted with the remote. In other modes, most of the buttons on the remote do nothing, and nearly all must be adjusted on the front panel. The one that bugs me is when switching to manual heating, the unit switches by default to emergency heat (rather than heat pump), and you have to use the remote to force heat pump mode.
