interesting.... wonder if there has been research/a report on things like Power Consumption and Efficiency over the "life" of appliances? I know things like Refrigerators and AC units become vastly inefficient toward about 2/3 of their life.

Washers and dryers 8 to 12
HAHA... My father has had the same washer and dryer for about 25 years. Maytag, I believe. It's a jumbo washer, too... he can wash like 15 pairs of jeans at the same time. |

"back in the day"... funny saying...
twenty or so years ago, appliances had warranties of 5-10+ years... now you get ghey warranties like 90 parts and 1 year labor on a $3000 appliance. On new appliances I advocate extended warranties, some say its a waste of money but a $50 warranty vs a $400 repair... |
