Hi, new as of today
For years I have been searching for just such a site.
I have a spring fed 80'x80' pond, an artesian well, and an abandoned well on the property. The stone farm house built in 1754 (al la Geo Wash slept here). I've run line from the house to the pond along the overflow for the hand dug well (spring) that runs to the pond into the house. Geothermal units are crazy expensive. I figured there had to be someone out there thinking the same as me. I have a neighbor who installs commercial HVAC. I got as far as the POC unit, and had to join. I am going to send this to him and see what we can come up with. and continue reading on the site. I'm really psyched now. I have free 55 deg water running out of the ground next to the house, and $1800 to fill the oil tanks each time. Anything I can do to help. I've very into Home automation as well, and want to go off the grid as soon as possible. Love the site... |

Welcome to ER, David
Looks like you've got an ideal site for GSHP How is the house doing, renovation-wise? I'd bet working on a 250 yo building isn't easy.

Hmm, just a thought: Spring, pond, etc. Microhydro?
