So then I got the electric kettle out.
1.416kwh so measure for 3:56 1 liter 17.2°C t=1 - 39° t=2 - 55° t=3 - 82° - eff from here t=3:56 - 89° Rise = 64.8°, 4.175 x 64.8 x 1000 = 270734j 5097600j/h -> 254880j And I did it all because I intended to argue that electric heat, being the inverse of efficiency, could not achieve 100%. |

Even worse than the electic use being 5% efficient, it showed that the water absorbed more heat than I put in. Sense I did not test it in my neighbours hot tub I assume that I just didn't mix the water thoroughly when taking the temp readings.
I think my next experiment will be on something even more generally accepted, like the shape of the earth... Last edited by pinhead; 12-23-11 at 11:09 AM.. Reason: wrote it in some awesome language that was not english. |

Hehehe.. There are no Free Lunches.. However, inverter heat pumps are semi-free..

In that case, I think you have invented a hyper-efficient heat sink.
Wow! A black hole right there in your own home! -AC
