Upgraded Water Well Pressure tank
While scrounging for tanks to store Bio-Diesel in I can across a 1315 Gallon Well pressure tank; I just got it installed a few minutes ago.
You might be wondering why this is an eco-mod well there are a few reasons 1) longer pump Life due to less cycles. 2) Lower energy use due to less cycles (well maybe) 3) The big one. Pulse and glide the Generator! For Hurricane preparedness/ ecomod. In the past I'd have to run the Subaru for 15~20 mins(running just the 220 volt well) 4~6 times per day (with typical outaqge period being 7 days); this way I get water pressure 24/7 and I should have enough water for atleast 3 days! So with No need to run my 4.2kw Subaru Generator (over 1 gal/ hour) for days at a time while maintaining water pressure! I can just run my 1kw Honda (.5 gallon tank gives 8 hours at full load) to run gadgets. I'm psyched. Total cost 2 34 mile trips in golf (1 with trailer) $2? of Bio 20 feet 1" pvc $8 Assd Plumbing $20 So $30; should pay for itself in Fuel alone during the next hurricane; hopefully sooner in electricity + pump wear. Pics To come tomorrow (dark out) |

I put it under my boat shed, which is part of my pool house. My shower drain was very poorly routed, so I routed it around the edge and put the tank space saved by the new plumbing.
Gosh I need to take pictures of alot of stuff. |
