Hello From Canada
Hello everyone,
Found this site through Ecomodder and just wanted to say hello! I look forward to seeing what I can do around my parent's house and learn from this forum!

Welcome to the site Impulse. Did you have any ideas on where you'd like to start?

Thanks Daox! Honestly I have no idea where to start. Just finished reading your mower EV thread haha.(Great work btw!) I am sure once I get through reading most of the forum I will have lots of ideas though.
The only downside is that I have moved across the Country and moved back in with my folks to help them out as they are getting older and have a massive garden to deal with.(Grow their own Vegetables for food and dahlias & gladiolus for show) I will be trying to get my father to switch from his regular light bulbs to more efficient ones for starters lol. And from there who knows I look forward to the massive amount of reading ahead of me lol

Aren't the old bulbs banned now or is that just a BC thing? I can't buy them here anymore.
I'd just start swapping the old ones out as they die if he's going to put up a fight. If he doesn't overly care then just slowly switch them over. Most people don't even notice if you go with a bulb of the same color |

Welcome to ER
I'll add that the biggest bang for the buck is replacing those bulbs which see the longest on-time. This may be the livingroom/den, kitchen, or porch (if that gets turned on for the whole night, as is the case in my Mom's neighborhood). Oh, and a power strip with an off switch for the electronics! That might save you as much as replacing a few bulbs, and for cheaper Since your folks are into gardening, then I presume that they've got composting and harvesting rainwater covered?
