If it's an inverter unit, a larger one (with the same outdoor unit) will likely be more efficient once it scales down.

Power meter came in. Its averaging 245 watts per hour. My figures i did was almost dead on. 5 watts per hour off i figured it to be 240 watts. It is on auto right now . Heat ran until it got warm then air conditioner shot on. The auto is a nice feature for nights like this one . Go to sleep sweating outside . Wake up its cold outside. Will put more figures on here Later this week once i get the numbers in.

Comfort level has certainly increased already tested the air conditioner . Have had to use the heater past few days. Supposed to jump up to 75 tomar. So ac will be back on.
Yep. Uses about half in energy . And little more than double . Im going to bet . If more than just one wall had insulation in them . It would help a bit more. Im planning on later on opening the whole house up and figureing the watts . Just waiting on a halfway decent week . Here is the only place you can get a sunburn and frostbite in th same day . |

Forgive me for loosing track .
What brand did you buy ? What btu ? What SEER ? Mine is running on A/C , right now , in the living room / dining room . When it is running on A/C , it pulls 10 amps of 120 VAC . That would be 1200 VA . Watts probably slightly less , depending on power factor . But mine is old technology , 13 SEER . The compressor cycles off and on . The newer technology / high SEER units use a variable speed compressors . The compressor speed is ramped up or down depending on load . I also think the higher SEER units perform better in Heat Pump mode , down to colder out door temperatures ? God bless Wyr Last edited by WyrTwister; 03-19-14 at 10:36 AM.. |
