I have three extra batteries and a soft backpack case.

You can buy a 2016 from a carb state and have it shipped to you. They shipping is usually not that bad.
If you buy it from a high volume dealer in CA it is usually cheaper to do it that way because they can sell the volt cheaper.

I have seen him ship Volts all over the US so this is not new to him.
