UV from CFLs?
CFL Lamps Might Cause Skin Damage | UV Radiation CFLs | LiveScience
Reading about this again today and noticed something that may be of interest. Tiny hair-line cracks in the florescent coating (inside the tube) are where the strong UV is emitted. So, if you are using a CLF as a reading or work lamp, you might want to inspect it for cracks. I can recall seeing those little cracks in many CFLs that I've replaced over the years..
