Forum restructuring
I have been thinking for a while to get rid of the projects & improvements forum. It does showcase the larger projects that get done. However, it also separates them out from similar discussion and topics. So, I'm thinking of moving all the threads to their respective forum (ex move AC Hackers heat pump manifesto to the geothermal forum) where it can reside with the other similar thread types. This should make searching for info (and posting in the correct forum) easier.
I'd love feedback on this or other forum changes you'd like to see. If I don't hear anything I'll just go ahead with it in a couple of days.

You could probably condense the number of forums even further than that. For instance, the four solar categories could be combined into two forums - Solar PV and Solar Heat.

Good point Tim. I think I will do that too.
Any other suggestions anyone?

any possibility of getting the recent posts changed so that I can just hit reload on the page and get the new ones not an expired searchID message?
Other boards I'm on have a search_id=newposts for new posts here it's an ever changing number so the reload doesn't work after a little bit |

On both here and EM, I still get an "expired security token" when I try to mark all as read.

Clev, when I use the link at the bottom of the main page it works fine. When I use the one in the 'quick links' menu I get your error. Does it work the same for you?

Yup. Must be a change in the way vB handles marking messages as read. I have a link in my bookmarks bar that is the same link as your 'quick links' link. The link at the bottom of the page also includes a hash that apparently is now necessary.
