I've been a long time lurker and have been studying AC_Hacker's heat pump manifesto. it's one of the best and most interesting posts I have ever read. I'm on page 42 right now.

I'd just like to say hi to get my post count going!

currently stockpiling bits and pieces for a DIY open loop geothermal install.
I've got -
-working 1.5 ton window shaker
-a huge vicarb heat exchanger
-an unused well that is 30 feet from the house
- perfect place to dump it in an old in ground pool that I think is on the same water table!
so far nothing has cost me a penny! I'm very excited.

We have to dig a trench that is approx. 200-250 to the well that the potable water comes from so we can bury the water lines and build a pump house over top of the well... I'm thinking about putting in a closed loop system here as well... seeing as how the trench has to be dug anyway... might as well make use of it!

i'm so happy I found this website!
