I've always wondered how steam generation does efficiency wise vs PV. I would imagine its more efficient per square foot.
I also don't see why they can't just spread out the plants in the southern US. it doesn't all need to be one gigantic power plant. That would eliminate the need for the weird high voltage DC system they talk about. That just seems weird as I thought we used AC to reduce line losses. 92 Miles Sq. of Solar Could Power the USA
