12000 BTU FEDDERS Mini Split 20 SEER
12000 BTU FEDDERS Inverter Ductless Mini Split Heat Pump Air Conditioner 20 SEER | eBay
120vac unit that comes with install kit. Could be a pretty good deal. The specs are fine, IMHO.

It says Heat & Cool, but there are no heating specs... smells fishy to me... NOTE: turns out that "Heat & Cool' is the name of the company. This is AC only. -AC

And, even on the Ebay page (Scroll down) they have the wrong specs.. It's amazing how many scams you find on Ebay these days.. Thanks for the information..

Neat stuff!
I checked out the Heat & Cool website and found an interesting unit..
KLIMAIRE - Quick Connect - Ductless Mini Split Air Conditioners heat pumps a/c deals online sales This model seems to have a pre-charged line set.. No HVAC guy needed?? The bad news is, it's only "* 13 SEER efficiency".. A non-inverter unit..

One thing I've noticed about non-inverter a/c or heat pump units is that their EER seems to be lower than a comparable central unit would be for the same 13 SEER. This seems to suggest that they use the reduced blower power required because of no ductwork as an excuse to cheap out on what otherwise could be better hot weather efficiency that would make it look more favorable and more worth it to install than a window A/C.
A pre-charged lineset seems like a pretty sweet idea. It would suck if an inexperienced person bent it badly and caused a leak while holding it though. ..probably not too likely but possible. |

Yeah, the pre-charged line-set would save a bunch of money up front,
for the typical DIYer who doesn't own the install tools. But I would rather go with the Fedders 12k unit and have a modern system. It would be pretty simple to install. Might be able to just plug-in to the 120vac. And I think they have a 240vac 12k unit that comes with install kit. I don't know what the heating range is, but if it worked like my Sanyo units, that Fedders 12k would be good replacement system for my Den Sanyo. (In case of burnt compressor). I'm saving that FEAU-YHD012-H15D & FESI-HHD012-H15D model number info for more research. Need to see some reviews too..
