How Pelmets drop your heating bills dramatically
I found this to be interesting. It kinda makes sense too... kinda. This assumes that your curtains can't pull air in from the sides near the top. But, perhaps it still helps? How Pelmets drop your heating bills dramatically Quote:

Strange how he illiterates the convection working in the reverse air flow
to how convection actually works. So in his reverse World it works perfectly but for you or I it will have no effect other then reflecting heat or cold from the windows top edge.. my living room Window has a 10' long 18" wide Pelmet (?) made from drywall sheet and is indicative to many mid 70's homes. |

After thinking more on it I suspect the author wants to stop warm air from getting cold , then dropping. Which when looked at in that manner suggests it would prevent the very warmest roof air from being chilled then convected down the window face.
I suppose they do work , slightly ? |

I went to site Daox mentioned, and read the article.
There wasn't anywhere in the article where the writer gave the slightest hint that she (or he) had any actual experience with this technique. Best she could do was to say, "give it a go." Life is short and projects, even proven effective ones, are many. Choose your battles wisely... -AC
