I agree with you it seems like the same type of a deal. Very shady.
I use to allow public viewing my solar array through Enphase website.
I had a leasing company come to my door and want my production information for my system and power bills. They wanted to use my numbers to help them sell leased solar locally.
I was like no way. “They said don’t you support solar” I said yes I support solar and I really support DIY solar installs but I really don’t support leasing solar it is like payday lending and it takes advantage people that don’t want to real your contracts.
I took my system off public viewing that day.
