There certainly are deals out there, even on new panels.

An ABF Freight truck arrived Monday with a pallet (5.6kW) shipped from California, with inverters for less than I paid for just panels on my first array (4.4kW). Going through the panels, checking for damage, this pallet of panels must have been shipped to a California job site, stored outdoors for awhile then sold off as excess inventory. Every panel came with a fine coating of California dust, similar to what I encountered working in San Diego years ago. At under $0.70/W (including microinverters), I'll wash the dust off, mount them, and collect sunshine with them. Freight on the pallet across the US was $500.
