I always thought about doing this. Haven't though because we dont have a fridge.
Thats why chest freezers are so efficient, no air falls out when you open the door. Have you guys seen the kits for sale that converts the thermostat on a chest freezer to operate as a fridge...it uses less than 1/3 the energy of a regular fridge.
