It must be really nice to have a decent sized property. My fiance and I have always wanted to get out of this suburban rut and get a house with some decent acreage. I think having the trailer on the property would be a good thing, and then if/when you want to build a house on the property, you can do it to your specs, and you can build the entire thing from the ground up with an Eco-Friendly design in mind (another thing I'd love to do)
You'll defiantly have to keep us updated on what you do with your "blank slate" you have to work with. I'd love to hear what becomes of it.
