I'm not sure this has come up on this forum, but I know it has on
ecomodder forum. I have a few extra dead lead acid batteries laying around that I'm looking to get rid of (recycle for $). So, I hopped on to Batteries Plus website to see what they'd give me for the batteries (sadly nothing). But, I did notice they also recycle almost any battery type:
Battery Recycling - Recycle Your Battery at Batteries Plus
Battery Type
-Lead acid (Pb) Batteries
-Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) Batteries
-Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) Batteries
-Lithium Ion (Li Ion) & Lithium Polymer (Li Poly)
So, no, its not hard to find a place to take your dead lithium or any other form of batteries.
Sadly, they wont pay you for them. Does anyone else know of any places who will?
Both Autozone and Advance Auto Parts will give you $5 of in store credit for lead acid batteries.
EDIT: Use this site to find local places to recycle batteries and what not.
