Further feedback on my original post.
The Bosch dryer suffers from a poor lint filter resulting in lint making its way into the heat exchanger and the dryer internals including the condensation sump.
This was easily fixed though by installing a washable filter material in the front lower portion of the hot/moist air return between the lint filter and heat exchanger.
