Yes I will be changing out the cap tubes in the existing air handler with a TXV. So all the work can be done outside. Meaning I will have to insulate the water coils outside.

So maybe the water heater idea is too much? I guess if the house thermostat didn't call for heat for a few days I would have to add a call in from the water heater to turn the compressor on at like 35%. Maybe I should just stay with what I got.
