It is amazing.

I hope that it is possible for Bangladesh to supply its petroleum needs through the hyacinth technology in combination with other renewable technologies.

One problem is that civilization uses energy on such a huge scale, that sustaining the current energy level (which is based on withdrawing energy from a fossilized energy reservoir that took many millions of years to form) might be a rapacious enterprise, as it plays out in the daily life of our planet.

Another problem which your post does not mention is that our economic system is based on continuous growth, which a finite planet can not sustain.

So we actually have three goals...
  • Increasing our use of hyacinth, and other renewable resources.
  • Find ways of reducing our energy use, while maintaining a good quality of life. (EcoRenovator to the rescue!)
  • Finding a way to base our economy on something other than perpetual growth.

The challenges have never been greater.

Best,

-AC
