It's been a couple of years since I got my ticket as well but the warnings I remember were about RF burn due to exposed wires and very close proximity while broadcasting. Basically keep antenna's high and don't broadcast while holding onto the wire type things, Also watch for stray RF in the shack. I don't remember anything about low level radiation warnings in there.

10 feet from the meter the power is 0.005 μW/cm2. Right at the meter it's 2 μW/cm2 it really is a trivially small amount of power. They use 1 watt and broadcast for about 1 minute a day. I'nm not at all worried.
