Amazon.com: Peter W. Shor's review of The Trouble With Physics: The Rise of Stri...
I'm thinking of buying an old book, and saw this information in an old review.
(1) String theory has been around in some form or another for over 40 years.
(2) In that time, it has not made ONE SINGLE PREDICTION that has been verified experimentally.
(3) It is not likely that in the near future it WILL make one prediction that can be verified experimentally.
Is this still true? Has String theory really been a giant waste of time and money? Still? In 2012?
