This radiation thing is really a problem. I went back and studied the 'official' reaction to the following nuclear disasters:
...and in every case, the people who lived in the areas surrounding the disaster were not properly informed of the grave risk to which they were exposed. It only came out much later, when it was too late to do anything, that the people who were in control of the information, were in full possession of information regarding the dangers and knowingly withheld information that was vital to survival.
We have no reason to believe that officials will provide us with information we need to avoid sickness or injury.
The Japanese people recognized this early in the Fukushima disaster, and set up a citizens monitoring network (

Link-2) that has set the standard for non-governmental citizen response.
We need to do the same thing.
There is no known safe level of radiation.
