I read the patent - which seems to point out that putting these together is not just simple soldering - much more if its been exposed to salt air and covered with silicone caulk like mine.
Online i found some references to specialty fluxes and solders and a reference to bonding the wire to the existing flat strip(Copper?? it has a reflective finish I can't figure out) with epoxy embedded with silver dust - which i happen to have.
So I think I'll try to find the solder/flux first and then try the epoxy - its not a hi output panel but i don't even really know when if I'm down to bare surface on the ribbon strip!
