Got an Outdoor Wireless Switch (Hw2190) at Ace Hardware on sale
for about $15 last week. (It's RF, not IR).
Remote Switch
It was sold as a high powered remote control for outdoor Christmas lights.
However, I have found that it works pretty good for getting rid of the
parasitic load of my TV gear. (That cable box sucks up 30 watts 24/7)..
The only problem is, the cable box has to
re-learn for about 20 minutes
in the morning (or later) when we turn it on.
