Not as I recall. They were strictly IR in 2014. Some of my coworkers cloned the IR codes for the functions they needed onto their smart phones to control the A/Cs when remotes were not present in the rooms the A/Cs served. I also recall the remote buttons being purely Chinese characters, which made life interesting, since I don't read simplified Chinese nor do I speak it.
