Not sure about the compressor. But there is some info about the OD unit's case.
They say it's extra heavy duty.. I guess it has thicker sheet metal..?.

The Gree install manual isn't nearly as well done as the old Sanyo manual..
It seems more like a brochure, than a working document.

This manual is for the Crown 9k, 12k & 18k. And all the IDUs are the same size..
So, this is disappointing, this drawing must be for another family of IDU..?.
They need to have an accurate drawing of where to drill the hole.. LOL!
I'm going to try to use the existing hole.. Wish me luck!

One big negative on this IDU is the very short condensate tube! It ends inside the IDU! To save 15 cents??
The manual says you may have to use an adapter. The end of their tube is a soft plastic cone shape.
(I think clamping with tie, will crush it, causing a leak risk).
Where do we get that type of adapter? At the duct tape store?
I foresee this short drain hose as a problem for installers.. A water inside the cover, isn't going to be any fun at all.
Since the hose comes from the left side, I'm tempted to drill a 1" hole in the wall over there!

Those two mounting studs in the lower-left, is the location of the wire strain relief (you supply clamp).
So the wire must be installed inside in house (like the drain hose), then pushed out the hole, before lifting the unit onto the bracket. 2-man job.

That short copper pipe looks like it might be for converting from a 5/8" port,
down to a 1/2" lineset, that's used by the 9k & 12k Crown..
The little pipe was in the box with the IDU. And it has me wondering if,
the all three IDUs (9,12 & 18k) use the exact same indoor unit?
Wouldn't that be amazing.. Just different labels and maybe a byte in the firmware?
Another theory is, that pipe is used on the ODU, which all have the same size ports as the 18k..?.
I checked my new line-set (non-OEM) and it seems to be 5/8" & 1/4"..

I think located the wifi board, with it's little control server..
I'm wondering if it's the entire brains of the IDU, or just an add-on for wifi?
