Default Gas?

We have too many leaks already..

https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/20...LIM/story.html

"The leaks would be enough to heat as many as 200,000 homes a year and are valued at $90 million a year, the authors said."

When my wife and I go for a walk, we always smell gas leaks.
For years, the gas company has been drilling 1" holes in the roads and sidewalks to vent the gas..

Makes me wonder what it would be like if we had a medium strength earthquake..
Greater Boston might end up burning to the ground..
