China delivers. Got two little 2.25x2.25" timers today..
LCD Digital Large Kitchen Cooking Timer Count-Down Up Clock Loud Alarm Reminder | eBay
(Same timer is sold by other vendors)..

The both timers work fine.. Loud, but not too loud. These are going to work great
for keeping my scale refreshed during long operation cycles..
Once the timer starts beeping, it does not stop by itself!
Once it goes off, I can hit the Start/Pause twice (once stop, second time re-starts)
and get another per-selected timing cycle..

The quality of these timers is pretty good for the price..
The buttons work well and there is a 'Beep' when one is pressed.
If the display is left at "00:00" pressing the start/pause will cause an Up-count.
The two position magnetic flip down is nice for getting a good viewing angle.
The magnet is too weak.. Slides down the refrigerator..

These came with "Heavy Duty" AAA cells, which I'm using for testing.
Before actual use, I'll install a fresh AAA alkaline cell in the timer I use.
And remove it when I'm done. (The display stays on "00:00")..
Since I'll likely only be using the scale a couple times a year.. I hope!
