In all the previous threads, did not see any discussion of alternatives to a filter/dryer to remove H2O from bbq propane.

I wonder if just removing the valve from an old propane tank, dumping a pound of dessicant, an then re-filling with propane would remove the water if one let it sit for a few weeks ?

Anyone tried that?
