Hey Rich;

Thanks for your help; your advice led us into a researching of the wiring of the system by us DIYers, and found that the input power had been miswired. When I heard that the 4-way switch wasn't activating, I suspected a power situation, especially since the codes were not reflecting that the switch was faulty.

It was a somewhat costly mistake, as the AC guy didn't check the voltage but recharged the system unnecessarily, costing a full flushing, vacuuming, and recharging. But as DIY we had undertaken the wiring, so our bad.
