For grease, I used a petroleum-based lubricant that I
had used to grease the fill tube in the toilet.
I needed to buy it on short notice, so I bought
the kind they sell in the all-night drug store.
It's baby scented...not Vaseline, but house brand,
And it can be submitted to my Health Flexible Spending account. :-)
