Default An idea to test insulation

Lately it "snowed" (in fact melted snow and hail) by here. I took a picture of my PV solar panels covered of white :

The fun is that at that moment they were producing

Then I looked at my neighborhood and saw a "snow hole" on a white roof. This made me though he has an insulation problem and looked at my whole roof (west and east sides) :

This is logical that there is no "snow hole" on my roof as the insulation isn't under the roof, but horizontally over the ceiling, ie we can't use the space under the roof.

This test can't say you if your insulation is good, but sometimes it can say you that it's bad.

Denis.

Radioactive wastes saved by 3kWc photo-voltaic solar panels :
  • Long life (>100,000 years) : 2.85 g/yr (0.9 mg/kWh)
  • Short life (<300 years) : 31.7 g/yr (10.0 mg/kWh)
Based upon "official" French figures...
