Default Using the Kindle Fire as a Home Automation Touchscreen

Found this posting interesting..

AV and Automation Industry eMagazine - Using the Kindle Fire as a Home Automation Touchscreen | HomeToys

Got my wife an IPad Mini for Xmas, so I'm going to get the Kindle Fire back!
Thinking of doing a wall mount setup, if I can easily use the CAI board's webpage with the Fire touch screen.

I've been wanting to work on the CAI project again, but didn't like the idea of
needing to turn on a Windows PC every time I wanted to check something.

I don't think using the Fire as a dedicated CAI Controller interface is going to
deprive me of being able to check emails etc (without a Windows PC powered up),
since I should soon be getting a used Iphone 4, that I can use on WiFi, like it was a iPod Touch.
I will likely use that for most of the apps I would have run on the Fire. (Email checks etc).
Since the Iphone 4 has audio and video I/O, I may be able to use it Google Phone, FaceTime & etc.
Things the Fire can't do.. Plus, it has no Bluetooth..

Happy New Year!!
