Actually it's funny you bring that up. The other two water heaters I took out of the scrap run were solar water heaters just like your talking about. I really wanted to use one of them but they were 3" taller than the room the water heaters are in. So in order to use then I'd have to jack hammer the floor out and take at least a foot out so I'd have room for the inlets on the top. Best part was I was able to get 3 ?gruphundos? pumps. And next year Im planning on doing a geothermal heat pump converted from a 4 ton amana ashp.
