wal-mart now sells 5watt light bulbs 3 for 10$ and 9watts

you can intensify light extremely by painting the surrounding area in semi-gloss paint,

by this I mean paint the actual old rust dusty light fixture entire white semi-gloss two coats till coverd and instantly before the paint even dries you will notice how much brighter the bulb looks

I can light an entire kitchen pantry extremely well like this

try 20$ a month for electric its a good feeling

you can also paint a new fresh coat of white paint on nearby doors/trim to also enhance lighting

try to use matte for the doors though, it has less of a cooling effect and is cleanable

try 10-led solar shed lights too available at bennys

semi-gloss paint has a cooling effect though so would use it sparingly throughout your house unless, youre in a hot climate
