That socket is a standard USB cable socket, and you can use a standard printer cable to connect the display to a PC..
But, it won't work, unless your display has been USB enabled/ unlocked.

The 1001 isn't too hard to set up, once you get it running, it will display
real-time power use and will accumulate your monthly kWh use for a year.
The way I get my 'data' is to press the buttons to recall the data and write it down.
Never even put that Footprints program in my new PC. Too clunky, and the interface was made for low-res displays..

You can also set alarms to go off for over-voltage and over-power use..
I think it's well worth $20..
