I can't find anything for 8" cavities, but...
I can't find anything for 8" cavities, but compressing R15 insulation by 1/2" it's Rvalue drops by R2 for each and every 1/2 that you compress it.

Compressing fiberglass insulation reduces it's insulation value, so you will have a lower R-value if you use 8" of fiberglass in a 6" space.
