We make sure our shades and curtains are all down on cold nights, but of course the heat loss is still pretty high.

We have looked at some thermal shades that seal around the sides and bottom....

If I was starting from scratch, I would use a lot of south facing triple pane super tight windows, and very few on the North side.
In our little home, Southern windows provide a lot of the required...
